At the Family Benefits Office of the Federal Employment Agency—not at the Citizens' Office. The appropriate office depends on where you live.
How much is the child allowance?▼
250 euros per child per month, regardless of income or the number of children.
Until when will payments be made?▼
Generally, up to age 18. If you are in vocational training or pursuing a degree, up to age 25—in which case, please submit proof.
Who gets it—the mother or the father?▼
The parent with whom the child lives. In the case of shared custody: a mutual agreement or a court order.
